The Mallick Ghat flower market gets its name from Ram Mohun Mallick and dates back 170 years to 1855 when he built the Ghat.
With over 2,000 sellers, it is a bustling, hubbub of sounds, sights and smells and you can spend hours exploring.
There is so much colour, and whilst the market seems to sell flowers of every variety and colour, it is dominated by orange and yellow marigolds, which are made into strings. The flower market transporters carry countless strings of marigold flowers, which looks like they are wearing a giant flower dress!
