The Ben Youssef Medersa, located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakesh, was constructed by Sultan Abdullah Al-Ghaleb Assaadi between the years 1564 and 1565 and for four centuries was a citadel of learning for scholars, specialising in religious studies.
